SunRocks are cannabis buds that Snoop Dogg won’t smoke. Well, maybe a little. This bud is not a strain per say, but a strain of top-shelf cannabis dipped in wax and coated with a dusting of kief. Information on this creation is sorely lacking, but this stuff is rumored to contain around 80% THC and hit so strong that even Snoop Dogg is cautious. Here’s the scoop on SunRocks, the ultimate weed product.
What are SunRocks?
SunRocks is an update to MoonRocks, in which a bud is dipped in CO2 oil and then rolled in kief. Anyone can make MoonRocks at home, but rappers Kurupt and Dr. Zodiac started their own brand of the stuff, Kurupt’s MoonRocks, which contains a whopping 51.20% THC. These buds are almost as powerful as dabs, with a lot more flavor and a stronger aroma.
SunRocks, however, is a bit different. While it’s unclear whether or not different varieties of SunRocks are available, some particularly delicious rocks reportedly contain all OG products, from bud, to wax, to kief. Strains sold as SunRocks do not look like MoonRocks, which are coated with what looks like a hardened layer of kief.
From afar, it is difficult to tell these buds apart from any other. But, make no mistake, they are sticky and coated with top-shelf concentrate. Up close, you can see plenty of amber goo leaking out from between calyxes.
Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be many samples of SunRocks out there yet. But, the buds are certainly developing a reputation for themselves. In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, Snoop explains,
Once the growers started to think about the THC level was what induces the high, it would be like 15 percent THC, 20 percent at the most. These fools with the MoonRock went to 60 percent THC. SunRocks went to 80 percent!
The SunRocks experience
SunRocks are so sticky that they need to be broken up with the fingers or cut using a pair of scissors. Never put SunRocks or MoonRocks into a grinder, that would waste the kief and concentrate mixed into the bud. However, new cannabis consumers should be warned.
According to Snoop Dogg, this strain is some really strong stuff. So strong that he doesn’t even smoke it by itself. Snoop tells Charlemagne,
If I do do it, I take it and I sprinkle into some regular weed. You can’t just do it by itself, it can’t just be MoonRock solo.
This strain is also one to share. While dabs contain more THC per hit, smoking an entire SunRocks blunt by yourself is not recommended. In high doses, this strain will certainly cause one serious high. In low to moderate doses, SunRocks are thought to provide a powerful yet relaxed and upbeat experience, with a delightful sense of bodily ease.
Because of all of the wax, inhaling this strain can be a bit harsh. This THC-laden treat is recommended for use in a bong, blunt, or pipe. Since SunRocks contains both delicate bud and sticky oils, these products are not recommended for use in a vaporizer.
