LA is calling in the 420 games as a way to change the public perception of marijuana. Hollywood itself has done somewhat of a disservice to marijuana because it has made users out to be lazy stoners. But the 420 games, according to Steve DeAngelo, the 420 kid, is an athletic series of events to destigmatize the healthy and responsible use of cannabis.
The 420 Games has been held at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park but is moving this year to LA. The race will be held on March 26, it’s route from Santa Monica Pier to Venice and back.
Cannabis is compatible with success
This event is being brought together by many marijuana activists, one of which is Steve DeAngelo, the famous 420 kid. His vision is that marijuana can be integrated into a full and healthy lifestyle to enhance all the parts of life that are the most valuable and important. He says “the idea that cannabis use is not compatible with the lifestyle of success is just a myth”.
This video features people from all walks of life supporting the use of cannabis for a multitude of different reasons. This event is to bring people together who use marijuana responsibly and medicinally to make their lives better. LA will be one of six cities participating in the games, and there is $500 in it for the person who comes in first place.
